Master Your Time and Make Money Today

We all have the same 24 hours. So why do some people end the day broke and exhausted, while others end it richer and energized?
The difference isn’t effort—it’s allocation.
If you are busy but your bank account isn't growing, you are likely falling into the "productivity trap." You are clearing your inbox, organizing files, and attending meetings—but you aren't doing the work that actually pays.
Here is how to flip the switch, master your schedule, and generate revenue today.
1. The "80/20 Rule" of Income
The Pareto Principle states that 80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts. In business, this is even more extreme: 80% of your income likely comes from 20% of your activities.
Most people spend their day in the "80%" zone—answering emails, tweaking website colors, or scrolling LinkedIn. To make money today, you need to ruthlessly identify your "Money 20%."
The 80% (Busy Work): Emails, research, organizing, planning, "getting ready."
The 20% (Money Work): Sales calls, sending invoices, clicking "publish" on an ad, asking for referrals, launching a product.
Action Step: Look at your to-do list for today. Circle the one task that directly leads to a deposit in your bank account. Do that first. Ignore everything else until it is done.
2. The "Power Hour" Strategy
You don't need eight hours of focus to get ahead; you need one hour of intensity.
Set a timer for 60 minutes. During this hour, your phone is in another room, your email is closed, and you are solely focused on revenue-generating activities (RGAs).
What to do during your Power Hour (Choose one):
The Follow-Up: Send personal messages to 5 leads who ghosted you last month.
The Upsell: Contact 3 current happy clients and offer them a premium add-on or a prepaid extension.
The Flash Sale: Create a simple, time-sensitive offer (e.g., "3 spots left for a consultation at 20% off") and email it to your list.

3. Kill the "Open Loops"
Nothing drains your mental energy (and earning potential) like unfinished business. "Open loops" are those nagging tasks you keep pushing to tomorrow. They clutter your brain and ruin your focus.
The 2-Minute Rule: If a task takes less than two minutes (e.g., sending a payment link, replying to a hot lead), do it immediately. Do not write it down. Do not schedule it. clear the path so you can focus on the big wins.
4. Monetize Your "Dead Time"
Between the meetings and the deep work, there are pockets of "dead time"—waiting in line, commuting, or cooking.
Don't use this time for scrolling. Use it for passive learning or relationship building.
Audiobooks/Podcasts: Listen to sales training or industry news.
Voice Notes: Send quick check-in voice notes to your network. "Hey, was just thinking about you, hope business is good!" This keeps you top-of-mind for referrals without feeling like a sales pitch.
5. Review Your "Day Rate"
How much is your time actually worth? If you want to make $100,000 a year, your hourly value is roughly $50/hour.
If you are spending an hour trying to fix a printer or design a Canva graphic, you are losing money. You are doing a $10/hour task when you should be doing $50/hour work.
The Fix:
Delegate: If it costs less to hire someone than your hourly rate, hire them (even if it's just a gig worker on Upwork).
Delete: If it doesn't make money or make you happy, stop doing it.
The Challenge: Make $1 Today
Don't just read this and nod. Prove to yourself that you have control over your time and income.
Your mission: Before the sun goes down, initiate one transaction. Send one invoice, list one item on eBay, or make one sales call.
Mastering your time isn't about doing more. It's about doing the right things, right now.
